Well, it has been a while since any news popped up on The Host after all the press surrounding Saoirse Ronan and Cannes died down. If you have read our previous post, a US distributor for The Host was stilll up in the air. Variety reported today that Open Road Films is in talks to distribute The Host domestically.
The article also mentions the same start date for production as before, January 2012.

On the other hand, Deadline has an article as well about the same thing, but they do mention Saoirse Ronan. I do not know how much I trust Deadline with them breaking the news that Ronan was cast. Several interviews came along with her saying she was only in talks.
Hopefully, Saoirse Ronan will say something official on her twitter. We can only hope. Follow her @Saoirse_Ronan.
