This morning, @TwilightMOMS did a great job of letting people know that Saoirse Ronan would be doing a live interview on twitter. It was a short interview, so I’ve included the transcript below, leaving q&a verbatim (source: @GlamourMagUK):

Ronan: I’m here. Hello to all the Glamour readers. I can’t wait to answer some of your questions. BOOM!

@missmelinki: in the Lovely Bones was it difficult to play someone who meets a tragic end…?

Ronan: The atmosphere on set was always light, that was down to the people involved. I only needed to go to that place some of the time.

@Rebecca_Cox: Who’s your style icon?

Ronan: I like Sienna Miller & Kate Moss because they know what works for them & stick to it.

@kmaa: Who would you not want to miss out at the Oxegen fest?

Ronan: Jesse J, The Strokes, & Arctic Monkeys.

Anon: Did you do many of your own stunts in the film?

Ronan: I did all of ’em. I trained before hand in the gym & in martial arts.

@TwilightMOMS: What do you think of playing Melanie & Wanderer from The Host?!

Ronan: I’d love to be involved. Let’s hope.

@leisabarnett: How was the Met Ball? Do you ever get nervous?

Ronan: Butterflies! It was a very glamorous night.

@JustMeLenii: Hey Saoirse I love your name its so unique what does it mean?

Ronan: Thank you. It’s Irish for Freedom and/or Liberty.

Ronan: I’ve been asked about doing The Hobbit – unfortunately I won’t be able to do it. It breaks my heart. I love Bilbo & NZ.

@KrisVamp: What attracted you most to Hanna are you similar?

Ronan: Not really but it’s more fun to play a character who’s different.

@Rhonda_Anaconda: What advice do you have for teens to get into acting?

Ronan: Try to get involved in a drama group, watch good movies.

Anon: What did the cast do to get into the mindset of living rough?

Ronan: We trained in the wilderness in -30. That was rough enough.

Anon: Would you be up for a Hanna sequel?

Ronan: Absolutely. I love the character. It’ll give me an incentive to get back in the gym.

@CorkConan: Sersh, any news on Emma Thompson’s Effie?

Ronan: I’m hoping and waiting for some news myself as I’d love to play her.

@ShenekaShirly: What are your favourite countries?

Ronan: Fave countries: Ireland, NZ, and the United States.

@ShenekaShirley: What are your hobbies?

Ronan: Swimming, surfing, and being awesome! Nah the last one’s a lie.

@TwilightLexicon: What do you like about roles that are physical?

Ronan: It makes me feel better about not exercising between roles.

Anon: You’re a huge Lady Gaga fan. What is it about her?

Ronan: She’s a true artist who works her arse off for her little monsters.

Ronan: @MikeAharonyan Thanks – and they’re not contact lenses either!

@gabriellamer: What causes are you passionate about?

Ronan: I’m an ambassador of the ISPCC that works to prevent cruelty to children.

Ronan: It’s been great chatting to you. Thank you for the support. Come over to @saoirse_ronan to follow me xxx

I had a concern about her answer for the question about playing the part of Melanie & Wanderer. She talked about ‘hoping’ and how she would love to play the part, so this causes me to wonder if it is not as sure of a thing as we have been believing. It could be she is finalizing her contract or waiting for more funding sources and for filming to actually start before getting her hopes up about playing the part. We shall see.

As for Emma Thompson’s Effie that she mentions, here is a recent article on the moviefone site which talks about the scandal and hold-ups with that project: Moviefone.

Also, here is the link to the ISPCC that she mentions being an advocate for: ISPCC
