Meyer Attending Cannes Festival

Stephanie Meyer is going to be attending the Cannes Film Festival next week with one of The Host’s producers, Nick Weschler. The festival takes place in Cannes, France and runs from May 11 to 22. The purpose of their trip is to present their script and movie ideas to buyers from the Inferno team. We know that Marc Butan, Jim Seibel and Bill Johnson are going to be executive producers and Roger Schwartz will be a co-producer. There are also rumors that Andrew Niccol may return in some capacity now that he is finished with his current film. Now that the process seems to really be moving along, keep your eyes and ears open for more news. Sarah and I will do our best to get the news to you as quickly as we can.

On a side note, thank you so much for record hits yesterday! You guys are great!!

  • We we we so excited. Haha okay I’ll stop now. I don’t know what this Inferno team is, my guess is a distributor? I hope SM comments on the Soairse casting, seems like she should be happy about it 🙂

I’m very happy and excited were getting news !!! And glad you broke records could you share those numbers ? Kinda curious. Thanks again !

  • Stephanie Meyer. I was wondering how much say you have about casting? I noticed that your description of Melanie Stryder was very specific and Saoirse Ronan didn’t seem to fit that. I had envisioned a taller, strong, dark haired girl like Jessica Alba, though younger (maybe). Of course, I want the best director possible also and leave that decision to who best interprets the book into a great movie. Would like to know your thoughts.
